Alex German from Alburnett’s Future Business Leaders of America Chapter was appointed a Regional Vice-Presidents Assistant by the North Central Vice-President, Jilly Gokalgandhi from Warren Township High School in Illinois.  The Future Business Leaders of America North Central Region includes Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota.  Alex is a junior at Alburnett High School and extremely active in the local chapter, currently serving as secretary.  His duties for the VP Assistant will emphasize communication between the afor mentioned states leadership teams.

Also, the Iowa FBLA chapters in Alburnett and Bellevue recently worked together to sharpen their members' project management skills.  Approximately a month before they played each other in football the two FBLA chapters decided to make the football game "PINK OUT!".  Alburnett's members worked with Bellevue's members to plan several things-some raising money and others just for fun and others that didn't pan out.  This included everything from designing, marketing & selling 386 shirts to making pink ribbons to both football teams wearing pink socks for the game.  It was a huge success and together Alburnett FBLA and Bellevue FBLA raised $1,647.21 to support Breast Cancer Research.  Please remember that these two schools are almost 90 miles apart and the total combined 9-12 enrollment is 404 students.  This was more than a success!  They are looking forward to next year and the possibility of inviting other Iowa FBLA chapters to participate!

I hope you all had a great time at the State Fall Leadership Conference. With the speaker in opening session, business tours, and the work sessions (especially the Team Building exercise run by your officer team), our hope is that we've made you more interested in a career in business.

Secondly, I'd like to direct your attention to a couple new things on the website. First off, the Photo Album is now functional. As you click pictures, they should blow up in a window on your screen at a higher resolution. Secondly, I have set up a Senior Information Form so that graduating members of this year may input their information and have it forwarded to PBL Chapters from different colleges.
